AristippusAristippus (4th century BC) was a Greek philosopher born in Cyrene in Africa. He was a pupil of Socrates at Athens, before teaching philosophy at Syracuse at the court of Dionysius. The doctrine of his school, the Cyrenaics, promoted hedonism and egoism. |
