APA style

APA style is a widely-used and accepted format for the writing style of research papers, (such as the arrangement and punctuation of footnotes and bibliographies).

Some institutions also use MLA style. Some use both styles, and prefer APA for social sciences and MLA for the arts. Other institutions may use Chicago, Turabian, or their own in-house style guides.
