Anton Pannekoek
Anton Pannekoek (1873-1960), a Dutch astronomer and Marxist theorist.As an internationally recognized astronomer and astrophysicist, was acknowledged for his contributions to the field after his death by the naming the Astronomical Institute at the University of Amsterdam 'Anton Pannekoek'.
As a recognized Marxist theorist, he was one of the founders of the council communist tendency and main figure in the radical left in the Netherlands and Germany. Well known for his writing on workers' councils.
