Amadeus Quartet

The Amadeus Quartet was a world famous string quartet founded in 1947, with members

  • Norbert Brainin (first violin)
  • Siegmund Nissel (second violin)
  • Peter Schidlof (viola)
  • Martin Lovett (cello)

The quartet played for over 40 years until Peter Schidlof died. The remaining members decided to disband rather than carry on.
