Albertson's

Albertson's is a grocery store chain that owns several other stores, including Jewel, Osco, Acme, and Savon.

Albertson's was founded by Joe Albertson in 1939 in Boise, Idaho. In 1969, Albertson's partnered with Skagg's to create the first combination grocery - drug store. Later, Albertson's acquired Seessel’s, Smitty’s, Super One Foods, and Buttrey Food and Drug, and Bruno’s.

On June 30, 2003, at an Irvine, California Albertson's store, a former employee of the store, identified as 30 year old Joseph Hunter Parker (a diagnosed schizophrenic), walked in with a sword and killed two employees before being killed himself by police.
