Adolf Ogi

Adolf Ogi (born on July 18, 1942), Swiss politician.

He was elected to the Federal Council of Switzerland on December 9, 1987 and handed over office on December 31, 2000. He is affiliated to the Swiss People's Party. During his office time he held the following departments:

  • Federal Department of Transport, Communications and Energy (1988 - 1995)
  • Federal Department of Defence; Federal Military Department (1996 - 1997)
  • Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sports (1998 - 2000)

He was president of Switzerland twice in 1993 and 2000.
